Wednesday, March 1, 2023, two weeks after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne (Switzerland) decided to overturn the Trial Chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee’s decision of November 18, 2020 imposing a lifetime ban from all football-related activity (administrative, sporting, and other) and a fine of one million Swiss Francs on the former President of the Haitian Football Federation (FHF), Yves Jean-Bart alias “Dadou.” In a videoconference press conference, Yves Jean-Bart declared his intention to take over as the head of the Haitian Football Federation once more.

Without giving an exact date, Yves Jean-Bart stated, “On Friday February 24, 2023, I informed FIFA of my return as President of the FHF given that the conditions which had disqualified me were nullified by the CAS ruling of February 14, 2023. His lawyers claim that he is no longer legally barred from exercising by FIFA and that nothing stops him from assuming the presidency of the Federation once more. In February 2024, “Dadou” plans to conclude the FIFA-shortened portion of his tenure and call new elections.
