The jury of the RFI / AUF Prize for Young Writings, chaired by Romanian-Congolese author Annie Lulu, nominated Taïna Fleury, a student at the State University of Haiti (UEH), Faculty of Human Sciences (FASCH), for her short story “Perejil.” Fleury is the winner of the 6th edition of the prize. The excellent literary quality of her writing set it apart.
Starting with the statement “Is it up to me to be an old woman to teach you courage?” from Annie Lulu’s book “Paine des Faunes,” which won the Ecology Novel Prize in 2023, contestants in the sixth edition were required to produce a piece of fiction in French limited to 8,000 characters. In response to the challenge, 222 young writers submitted their works this year.
