Mario Florvil, the director general of the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Civic Activity, was abducted by organized criminals. On Tuesday, February 28, about 7:30 am, the kidnapping took place in Pétion-Ville on the way to Frères.
The senior state official was abducted as he prepared to participate in sports close to his home.
According to a MJSAC official, the kidnappers have already gotten in touch with a family of the hostage, but they haven’t yet paid a ransom.
