63,238 men, women, and children were repatriated (by the Directorate General of Migration, or DGM), sent back at the border, or returned “voluntarily,” according to the most recent report (December 2023) from the Support Group for Returnees and Refugees (GARR).

25,761 fellow citizens were repatriated by the DGM. Returns across authorized borders at Anse-à-Pitres, Belladère, Malpasse, and Ouanaminthe, totaling 14,600 fellow citizens: men (64.5%), women (26.3%), and children, boys and girls (9.1%). 11,161 countrymen have been repatriated through unauthorized border crossings at Baptiste, Belladère (Rocher), Cornillon, Fonds-Verettes, Las Cahobas (Bateille), Savanette (Miguel), and Thomassique. Of these, men (47.19%), women (20.08%), and small boys and girls (29.13%) make up the total. 4,425 comrades were refouled at the border. 3,021 compatriots—men (55.27%), women (31.35%), and minor boys—are being refouled through official border crossings (Anse-à-Pitres, Belladère, Malpasse, and Ouanaminthe).

Sum total: 3,549 Remarks: There has been no regard shown for the memorandum of understanding on repatriations and numerous other migrant protection tools that Haiti and the Dominican Republic signed. More and more instances of unacceptable excesses by Dominican migrants are being reported to GARR.
