This Wednesday, May 3, the Haitian government permanently removed Bocchit Edmond from his position as Haiti’s ambassador to Washington after calling him in for advice.
Following a previous reminder for consultation regarding allegations made against him by the United States of America, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cults officially recalled Jovenel Moise, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cults of Haiti, who assumed the position of Ambassador of Haiti in December 2020, on this Wednesday, May 3, 2023.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship recalled 41 diplomats from the Haitian Embassy in Washington as well as from the other consular operations in the United States on Wednesday at the request of the American Government for a variety of reasons.
Following a letter the American authorities sent to the Haitian Chancellery criticizing his representation and management, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, Ambassador Bocchit Edmond has been invited back for a consultation at the MAE.
