Jean Bernard Joseph, a 45-year-old Pétion-Ville (West) native and head of department and supervisor at customs at the Cap terminal, was arrested on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at approximately 5:45 p.m. as part of the investigation into the seizure of weapons and ammunition at the port of Cap-Haitien by investigators from the Office for the Fight against Drug Trafficking (BLTS) on secondment in the North.
Government Commissioner Me Charles Édouard DURAND of the Court of First Instance of Cap-Haitien issued an arrest warrant for Jean Bernard Joseph, who was being vigorously sought for.
He is charged with participation in the acquisition of 26 guns, 1,000 rounds of ammunition, and magazines that were found in a container at the National Port Authority of Chicago on Friday, April 5, 2024.
