As part of the UNapproved Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS), Kenya has chosen to temporarily halt its plan to send police officers to Haiti to assist the Haitian National Police (PNH). Prime Minister Henry’s resignation has altered the ground scenario because there isn’t a new government in place to collaborate with the Mission, according to Kenya’s Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Korir Sing’oei. “The Government will wait for the installation of a new Government in Haiti before making new decisions.But reiterated that Kenya was committed to “provide leadership to the Mission.” “Without a political administration in Haiti, there is no anchor on which a police deployment can rest.”
