Port-au-Prince, August 21, 2024 – The Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) announced the arrest of Bénicé Célestin, 52, for his alleged involvement in this triple murder. Célestin, originally from Grande-Anse and a long-term resident of Léogâne, was arrested on his way to the airport in Trois Mains. However, he has categorically denied the allegations. The bodies of the two young missionaries were found partially charred, a devastating image for their families and loved ones. The two American victims, David Lloyd, 23, and Nathalie Lloyd, 21, were brutally murdered by armed men. This widely publicized drama sparked indignation in Haiti and abroad. David and Nathalie Lloyd owned an orphanage welcoming several hundred children. This establishment was operated by Jude Montice, a Haitian.
