While some visitors choose to settle in the city, many come to explore its various attractions. However, the overall tourist experience can sometimes feel lacking. In response to this concern, Cap-Haitien City Hall has announced the establishment of the Table de Concertation Communale (TCC), which will serve as a collaborative platform for advocacy, consultation, networking, and coordination among local, national, and international stakeholders.
The goal is to collaboratively identify and implement actions in the short and medium term to enhance and promote the city’s tourism sector. The TCC is set to officially launch on October 24, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. This event will take place at Hôtel Roi Christophe, located at 24 B Street, under the theme “Tourism Development of the Cap-Haïtien Metropolis: Cap-Haïtien, Land of Opportunities.” Key participants at this launch will include project leaders, universities from the Northern region, local investors, and community organizations. Discussions will focus on critical issues aimed at elevating Cap-Haïtien’s status as a premier tourist destination.
Topics will include: – Enhancing the coastline – Promoting the historic center, which has been a classified national heritage site since 1995 – Exploring current and future tourism opportunities – Addressing the deficit in state investment for infrastructure – Improving the quality of public and private services offered Following this inaugural meeting, the TCC will reconvene quarterly to assess ongoing initiatives, evaluate progress, and monitor decisions made. Cap-Haitien City Hall warmly invites all local and national stakeholders, as well as interested parties, to be part of this pivotal event that aims to usher in a new era for tourism in the city.
