On Thursday, August 7, 2025, as part of the rotating presidency, Presidential Advisor Fritz Alphonse Jean handed over power to Councilor Laurent Saint-Cyr, who became the new President pro tempore of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), which he will lead during the final phase of the transition.
Fritz Alphonse Jean recalled that the transfer of power is a symbol of political change. He took the opportunity to reflect on his presidency and highlight the various achievements that allow hope to continue to flourish among the population.
This transfer of power took place during a formal ceremony at the Villa d'Accueil, in the presence of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, members of his government, representatives of the Court of Cassation, members of the diplomatic and consular corps, and representatives of several civil society organizations.
In his speech, Laurent Saint-Cyr declared that he had accepted this great responsibility with great humility and patriotism.
